👀 New look, who dis?

For the first time ever...

Cut the Fluff has a cohesive brand!

What better way to spend a tense Election Day than reveling in fun colors, cool animations, and hidden easter eggs (like a sparring glove appearing over the 1:1 button 👀 🙌)?

Allow me to introduce you to my brand new business website:

The wonderful Emily Court built it, and I highly recommend her.

I met Emily on LinkedIn, where I meet most of the people in my business life these days.

One day, she was just...there. Commenting on my posts. I eventually followed her back and vibed with her content.

A few months later, we hopped on a networking chat to say hi.

A few months after that, she pivoted from copywriting to design & copywriting, and I thought about hiring her.

A few weeks later, we hopped on another call to catch up, and I blurted out, "I think I want you to make my website."

Why am I telling you this?

Because Emily did what many solopreneurs dismiss:

She showed up like a human.

  • She commented on tons of posts.
  • She became a familiar face.
  • She networked in the DMs.

She didn't just post and ghost. She didn't expect everyone to come to her. She treated LinkedIn as if it were a human-to-human networking event.

She also built a content engine.

  • She strategically talks about ONE thing from a million different angles (copy, now design)
  • She makes sure at least 80% of what she creates connects to her content pillars (the other 20% she talks about personal things, which makes you feel like you know her)
  • She writes with personality, so her style is easy to distinguish from the crowd

Emily didn't just capture my attention; she won my mindshare. So when she announced her new service, it was a no-brainer to hire her.

"Just be human" feels trite, but I haven't seen anyone succeed on LinkedIn without truly getting this notion.

Of course, the other reason why Emily succeeds (and, from where I'm standing, will blow up soon) is because she:

  1. Has a clear offer and a very strong point of view
  2. Has a content engine (as mentioned)
  3. Sells like a human (is fantastic at building relationships)

I hope this story helps unlock something for you :)

Cheers,

Erica

PS. Full Stack Solopreneur launches in a few weeks. Those 3 skills listed above? Nick and I will teach you how to create a legendary offer, drive traffic to it, and sell it on repeat. Hop on the waitlist so you don't miss launch pricing.

New here? I'm Erica.

Your seltzer-loving solopreneur who helps you earn more money with content that moves people to action (but doesn’t feel salesy).

Hey Reader, I'll never forget the first time I read a post from a "writer" saying if you don't get up at 5am to write every day, you're never gonna make it. Hot damn, the way my blood boiled. "Don't you dare tell me to get out of bed before my toddlers make me, you a#$@#!" Oof, that was cathartic. Anyways, my point: Getting readers emotional is the best way to make them remember you. In my case, I was in the 10% of readers who had a negative reaction to his post. The other 90% probably loved...
